1. About this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Rewire Coaching FZCO collects, uses, stores, shares and otherwise processes personal information when you use the Rewire mobile application, our website at therewireapp.com, our subscription services, community features, live sessions and any other services we make available from time to time.
Rewire Coaching FZCO is a company registered in the United Arab Emirates, with its registered office at Premises 87687-001, Building A1, IFZA Business Park, Dubai Digital Park, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
In this Privacy Policy, "Rewire", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Rewire Coaching FZCO. "You" and "your" refer to the person using our Services. "App" means the Rewire mobile application, "Site" means therewireapp.com and any other website operated by us, and "Services" means the App, Site, subscriptions, digital content, community areas, live sessions and other features provided by Rewire.
For the purposes of applicable privacy and data protection laws, Rewire Coaching FZCO will generally be responsible for determining how and why personal information collected through the Services is processed.
By using the Services, you acknowledge that your personal information will be handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Where the law requires us to obtain a separate consent for a particular type of processing, we will request that consent separately.
2. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you use Rewire, the features you choose to access, the permissions you grant and the information you decide to provide.
When you create an account, we may collect information such as your name, email address, username, profile photograph, date or year of birth where required, country or region, account preferences and authentication details.
If you choose to sign in using Apple, Google or another supported authentication provider, we may receive information that you have authorised that provider to share with us. The information we receive will depend on the permissions and privacy settings associated with your third-party account.
When you purchase a Subscription, we may receive information relating to your Subscription type, purchase date, renewal date, payment status, currency, promotional entitlement and transaction reference. Payments may be processed by Apple, Google or another payment provider, and in those circumstances your complete payment card information will generally be provided directly to that provider rather than to Rewire.
We may also collect technical information automatically when you use the App or Site. This may include your IP address, device type, operating system, App version, browser type, language, approximate region, time zone, device identifiers, crash information, diagnostic data, pages or screens viewed, feature interactions, timestamps, session duration and referring pages.
3. Information you choose to provide within Rewire
Rewire may allow you to provide information through check-ins, journalling tools, reflections, goal-setting features, cycle-aware features, preferences and other forms of personalisation.
Check-ins may ask about matters such as your mood, energy, focus, stress, confidence, intentions, goals, preferences or the type of content you would like to access. The exact questions and categories of information may change as the Services develop.
You may also create private journal entries, reflections, notes, goals, saved thoughts or other content intended for your own use. We process this information so that it can be saved to your account, displayed back to you, synchronised across supported devices and used to provide relevant functionality.
Where Rewire offers cycle-aware functionality, you may choose to provide information such as dates, cycle phase information, symptoms, experiences or preferences. This information may be used to provide cycle-aware functionality and personalise content recommendations.
Some information that you choose to provide may receive additional protection under privacy laws in certain jurisdictions. Where additional legal requirements apply to the way that information is processed, we will comply with those requirements and obtain any separate consent that is legally required.
You are not required to provide more information than is reasonably necessary to use a particular feature, and optional information may be left blank.
4. How we use your information
We use personal information to operate and improve Rewire and to provide the Services you request.
This may include creating and maintaining your account, authenticating users, administering Subscriptions, processing purchase information, providing access to Content, saving progress, maintaining streaks or challenges, storing journal entries, operating check-ins, personalising recommendations, delivering notifications, providing community functionality and responding to support requests.
We may also use information to understand how users interact with Rewire, analyse feature performance, identify technical problems, investigate crashes, improve our Content and user experience, maintain security, prevent fraud or misuse and develop new features.
Where appropriate, we may aggregate or de-identify information so that it is no longer reasonably associated with an identifiable individual. We may use such information for analytics, product development, statistical analysis and general business purposes.
5. Personalised content and recommendations
Rewire may use information associated with your account to personalise the Content and features shown to you.
This may include your check-in responses, stated goals, previous sessions, content history, preferences, challenge activity, cycle information where enabled and other information that you have chosen to provide.
Recommendations may be created using automated rules, ranking systems or other automated processes. These systems are intended to personalise and organise your experience of Rewire and are not generally used to make decisions that create legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.
We may change or improve the systems used to personalise the Services from time to time.
6. Connected devices and third-party integrations
Rewire may offer integrations with third-party services and device platforms, which may include Apple Health, Google Health Connect, wearable devices or other compatible services.
If you choose to enable an integration, we may request permission to access information that is reasonably relevant to the functionality being provided. Depending on the integration, this may include activity information, movement data, sleep data, heart-related metrics or other information made available by the relevant platform.
The exact categories of information requested will normally be shown through the permission controls on your device or within the third-party platform.
You remain in control of whether you enable an integration and may revoke permissions through your device or third-party account settings. Revoking permission may prevent certain Rewire features from functioning correctly.
Third-party services process information under their own privacy policies and terms, and we are not responsible for their independent privacy practices.
7. Community features
If you use Rewire community functionality, we may process information you post, upload, react to or otherwise make available in those areas. This may include your profile information, posts, comments, replies, photographs, reactions and other Contributions.
Information you intentionally publish in a community area may be visible to other users. You should not post information that you do not want other members to see, save, screenshot or remember.
We may use community information to display posts and discussions, provide notifications, moderate the community, investigate reports, enforce our Terms and Conditions and protect users.
We may retain information relating to serious moderation incidents where reasonably necessary for legal, safety, fraud prevention or enforcement purposes.
8. Live sessions and events
Rewire may provide live sessions, workshops, community calls, challenges or other digital group experiences.
If you participate in a live session, we may process information such as your display name, account details, chat contributions, audio, video and any other information you choose to disclose during the session.
Where a live session is recorded, appropriate notice will be provided where required. If your camera or microphone is enabled, your image or voice may form part of the recording.
Recordings may be made available to eligible Rewire users where this forms part of the relevant Service. If we wish to use identifiable user footage for a materially different purpose, such as external paid advertising, we will obtain any additional permission required.
9. Customer support, feedback and research
If you contact Rewire for support, we may collect your name, email address, account information, the content of your message, attachments and any technical information you provide.
We may keep support correspondence where reasonably necessary to resolve your enquiry, investigate recurring problems, maintain appropriate records and protect our legal rights.
We may also invite users to participate in surveys, product research, feedback exercises, early-access programmes or user studies. Participation will normally be voluntary.
Information collected through feedback or research may be used to understand user experience, improve features, develop Content and inform future product decisions.
If we want to use an identifiable testimonial, photograph, recording or statement for promotional purposes, we will obtain any permission required by law.
10. Marketing and notifications
We may send you service-related communications concerning your account, Subscription, payments, security, legal updates, privacy matters, safety information or important changes to the Services.
Where permitted by law, we may also send marketing communications about Rewire Content, features, events, challenges, promotions and related services.
Where consent is required for marketing, we will only send the relevant communications after obtaining that consent.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link within the email. Unsubscribing from marketing will not stop necessary service-related communications.
With your device permission, we may also send push notifications. These may include reminders, new Content, community interactions, challenge updates and account-related information. You can manage push notification permissions through your device settings.
11. Cookies, analytics and similar technologies
The Site and App may use cookies, software development kits, analytics tools and similar technologies to operate the Services, maintain security, remember preferences, understand usage, measure performance and improve the user experience.
Analytics information may include technical identifiers, sessions, screens viewed, feature interactions, device information and similar usage data.
We may also use advertising or attribution technology to understand whether users arrive at Rewire following an advertisement or marketing campaign.
Where applicable law requires consent before non-essential cookies, analytics or advertising technologies are used, we will provide an appropriate consent mechanism.
You may also be able to control cookies through your browser and tracking permissions through your device settings. Blocking certain technologies may affect how parts of the Services operate.
We do not intentionally use private journal entries, private check-in responses or private cycle-related information to create third-party advertising audiences.
12. Our legal bases for using personal information
Where applicable privacy law requires us to identify a legal basis for processing personal information, the basis will depend on the nature of the information and why we are using it.
We may process personal information because it is necessary to provide the Services you have requested, including maintaining your account, providing Content, administering a Subscription, saving information to your profile and operating requested features.
We may also process information where necessary for our legitimate interests, including protecting the Services, preventing fraud, improving Rewire, analysing performance, maintaining our systems, responding to users and managing our business, provided that those interests are not overridden by applicable privacy rights.
We may process information where necessary to comply with legal obligations.
Where consent is the appropriate or legally required basis, we will request consent before carrying out the relevant processing. You may withdraw consent where applicable law gives you that right.
13. How we share personal information
We may share personal information with service providers that help us operate Rewire.
These providers may assist with cloud hosting, data storage, software infrastructure, authentication, analytics, communications, customer support, payment processing, subscription management, security, crash reporting, live session technology and other operational services.
Service providers are permitted to access personal information only to the extent reasonably necessary to perform the relevant service and, where required, are subject to contractual or legal obligations relating to confidentiality and data protection.
We may also share information with Apple, Google or another platform where necessary to verify purchases, administer subscriptions, operate App functionality or comply with platform requirements.
We may disclose information to our professional advisers, including lawyers, accountants, auditors, insurers and consultants, where reasonably necessary.
We may also disclose personal information where required by law, court order, regulatory authority or law enforcement request, or where disclosure is reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights, investigate fraud, protect the Services or protect the legitimate interests of Rewire, our users or others.
14. Corporate transactions
If Rewire is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, investment, sale of assets or similar corporate transaction, information relating to users may be disclosed to appropriate parties involved in evaluating or completing that transaction.
Any disclosure will be limited to what is reasonably necessary and will be subject to appropriate confidentiality or legal safeguards where required.
If responsibility for personal information transfers to another organisation as part of a completed transaction, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that the information continues to receive protection required by applicable law.
15. International data transfers
Rewire Coaching FZCO is established in the United Arab Emirates. Our technology providers, contractors and other service providers may operate in the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, European Economic Area, United States or other countries.
As a result, personal information may be processed outside the country in which you live.
Where applicable law requires additional safeguards before personal information can be transferred internationally, we will use an appropriate legal transfer mechanism. Depending on the jurisdiction, this may include approved contractual clauses, adequacy mechanisms, recognised certifications or another permitted transfer arrangement.
16. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, unlawful use, accidental loss, alteration, destruction or disclosure.
These measures may include access controls, authentication systems, secure communications, encryption where appropriate, monitoring, technical backups, internal access restrictions and security measures provided by our infrastructure and technology partners.
Access to personal information is intended to be limited to individuals and service providers that have a legitimate reason to access it.
No internet transmission, mobile application, cloud platform or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for protecting your own account credentials and devices. You should not share your password with another person and should contact us if you believe that your Rewire account has been compromised.
If a personal information security incident occurs, we will investigate and take appropriate steps to contain and respond to the incident. Where applicable law requires us to notify a regulator or affected users, we will do so in accordance with those requirements.
17. How long we keep information
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and for any additional period required for legal, accounting, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or regulatory reasons.
Account information will generally be retained while your account remains active and for a reasonable period after closure where necessary.
Transaction and accounting information may be retained for longer periods where required by applicable tax, accounting or corporate laws.
Support communications and moderation records may also be retained where reasonably necessary to resolve disputes, enforce restrictions, protect users or maintain records of significant incidents.
Information stored in technical backups may remain for a limited period after deletion from active systems before those backups are overwritten or deleted.
Where information has been anonymised so that it no longer reasonably identifies you, we may retain and use that anonymised information for statistical, analytical, research or business purposes.
18. Account deletion
You may request deletion of your Rewire account using any account deletion functionality made available within the App or by contacting us.
Deleting your account may result in the loss of stored journal entries, check-in history, progress data, preferences and other information associated with your account.
Account deletion does not necessarily cancel a Subscription managed through Apple, Google or another third party. You should cancel any third-party managed Subscription separately.
Following deletion, we will delete or anonymise personal information associated with your account in accordance with applicable law and our retention requirements.
We may retain limited information where reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, maintain transaction records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements or protect the rights and security of Rewire and others.
19. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to the personal information we hold about you.
These may include rights to request access to your information, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion, restrict certain processing, object to certain processing, withdraw consent and receive certain information in a portable format.
Your rights are subject to the conditions, exemptions and limitations contained in applicable law.
We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request and may ask for information reasonably necessary to identify the relevant account.
We will respond to valid requests within the period required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising rights that the law gives you.
If you are located in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, you may also have the right to complain to the relevant data protection authority. In the United Kingdom, this is the Information Commissioner's Office.
If you are a California resident and applicable California privacy law applies to Rewire, you may have additional rights relating to access, correction, deletion, information about categories of personal information collected and certain uses or disclosures of personal information.
If you are located in the United Arab Emirates, you may have rights under applicable UAE privacy laws, subject to their requirements and exceptions.
20. Children
Rewire is not intended for children under the age of 16 and we do not knowingly permit children under 16 to create ordinary Rewire accounts.
If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a child who is not eligible to use the Services, we may delete the information and restrict or terminate the account.
If you believe that a child below the applicable minimum age has provided personal information to Rewire, please contact us.
21. Third-party services
The Services may contain links to websites, platforms and services operated by third parties.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to the independent privacy practices of those third parties.
Apple, Google, payment providers, authentication providers, connected-device platforms and other third parties may independently collect and process information under their own privacy policies.
We encourage you to review the privacy terms of third-party services before providing information to them or connecting them to Rewire.
22. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Services, our technology, service providers, business operations, legal requirements or privacy practices.
When this Privacy Policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of the policy.
Where a change is material, we may provide additional notice through the App, Site, email or another appropriate method.
Where applicable law requires consent to a new use of personal information, updating this Privacy Policy alone will not replace the need to obtain that consent.
